The lead author of the York University report said; 'The findings demonstrated potential links between people's mental health and the emotional bonds they form with their pets.' One cat owner said 'I have to feed my cat, let her out, stroke her on my lap and worry that she is OK. I don't have time to think of myself!' Read how cat owners respond to a threat to the freedom to own a cat in 'The Tenth Life' - a novel on the potential threat to humanity from a cat driven virus.
