Ginger - on a popularity offensive

Having now established himself as a home bird. Ginger set about engaging the other members of the household. His special attention was to the two women of the houshold - Pat, the top female and Tabsie, the boss feline. He  began to follow Pat and sit patiently if she was gardening helping by chasing and carrying the odd leaf that dropped onto the lawn. In the house his interest in almost everything Pat did even stretched Tabsie's patience and she would show her teeth at him in irritation. Nonetheless handling him was still a problem - hands, brushes, newspapers all appeared to be things that would hurt him and he would cower and run even though there was no evil intent. Stroking was definitely a non starter.
