Stress in the cat world

It appears that modern cat-life has become more and more stressful for the cats themselves. The issues that makes them stressed are lack of space, too many cats at home, too many cats in the neighbourhood, to much activity in the home, being moved to different places/homes, too often being left in catteries for a long period of time. Drugs for tension may be an answer but as for humans the answer is loo to reduce the tension as much as possible and be there to give comfort when needed. Sometimes ,apparently, cats refuse to take their medicine.
