Over 30 cats went missing in the town of Andernach in Germany in 2014 it was a mystery until neighbours caught Tran Qui, a Vietnamese, barbecuing his neighbour's cat. Tran didn't think there was anything wrong with it as it reminded of real cooking from his home land where anything that moved might be had for lunch. This harks back to a time when shortages were very common in Vietnam. He faced prison after the court hearing in Germany. Although there is a formal ban in Vietnam some restaurants still kill little tigers - a delicacy to be eaten with garlic. The practice is viewed with revulsion in the West although the eating of all crawling forms of life is acceptable if not legal in the Far East.
