Cats stolen on Wednesdays in Dracula's town
Whitby the Yorkshire coastal town is the home setting for Bram Stocker's Dracula and has been the scene for a bizarre set of cat thefts. Seven cats have been taken on successive Wednesdays from June 2012. One blind cat who was taken was found several miles away presumably when the abductors discovered they couldn't sell it on. The theory is that the cat nappers are trying to steal pedigree cats to sell on.
