The feline was caught on camera barking like a pooch until it notices being filmed by its owner and reverts back to meowing.The moggy has received more than 1.3 million hits on the video-sharing website.
The video has also been 'liked' more than 6,000 times on YouTube and the clip has been highlighted as a trending topic on the website.
But animal experts have denied the cat switches back to its meow out of embarrassment, revealing its head turning one direction could be enough to stop it from making the sound.
One viewer was not sure the moggy was actually a feline, writing on the site: "It's a dog in disguise.
